What is stainless steel?
Stainless steel or corrosion-resistant steel is an alloy of iron with a minimum of 10.5% chromium content. In addition to chromium alloying, steel must have a homogeneous single-phase ferrite, austenitic or martensitic microstructure to be corrosion resistant.
